Reading Guattari Alone and Together

COMING SOON

Reading Guattari Alone and Together is a transversal reading group with a focus on the writings of Felix Guattari (1930-1992), French psychoanalyst, philosopher, social theorist, and radical activist.

RAT (to crash start an acronym) was initiated by A+E (an art and ecology programme in Edinburgh), working with a variety of partners – both individuals and organisations.

We currently meet twice a month: once in-person (in Edinburgh and Stockholm) and once on Zoom (as a collective).

The aim of the reading group is to deepen our knowledge of Guattari’s ecosophical method, which transverses Guattari’s thinking on psychoanalysis and politics, schizoanalysis and cartography.

Aware that Guattari is a complex and difficult thinker, RAT draws on primary and secondary texts to shed light on this schizo-thinker. Prior knowledge isn’t necessary; outcomes are uncertain; a willingness to wrestle is expected.
